Congratulations Justice Fedinho Rebello!
It is indeed a very proud moment for us Goans, to see our fellow Goan, Justice
Ferdinho Rebello, being honoured with the appointment as the Chief Justice of
Allahabad High Court, the highest judicial position in India. Moreover,
Justice Rebello is only the second Goan to be honoured with this coveted
position.

Justice Ferdinho I Rebello of the Bombay High Court has been appointed as Chief
Justice of Allahabad High Court. After a successful career at the bar, he was
elevated to the bench of Bombay High Court in the 1990s. He was well-known for
pro-active role on socio-political issues as a lawyer. He was also elected as
an MLA. and later contested parliamentary elections. He will be sworn-in as
chief justice of Allahabad High Court shortly.
Justice Rebello who hails from Cuncolim, will be the second Goan to be
appointed as chief justice of a high court. Earlier, Justice G D Kamat was the
chief justice of Gujarat High Court.
