Rajan, With every passing day I am beginning to feel that the anti - RP 2011 agitation of 2006 -2007 was more of a ploy by the local builder, architect and civil engineer lobby to prevent big time real estate developers from entering Goa. If that had to happen then these local guys would be jobless. The monster image of Babush created by BJP thru' the media was helpful in exploiting the emotions of unsuspecting goans. With Digu bab in the saddle the builder lobby was more hopeful that their interests would be protected. GBA started 'dancing footsie'. This builder and architect lobby in GBA panicked when the controls of the movement started slipping out of their hands and was taken up by villagers. The moment the projects of local builders took a hit from the agitations in the villages, the games in GBA were heightened. The then convenor of GBA termed the Gram Sabha proceedings as anarchy. He also assured that GBA was not against real estate. Attempts were made to malign those of us who had smelt the rats in GBA. Dr. Oscar's resignation was the last trump card they tried to use hoping that the people of Goa would pounce on us who cried foul over GBA's mischief. The plot failed miserably as people were already aware of the truth. With the cries for bottom-up planning growing every day, the GBA has once again been employed into confusing the people. The government is interested in passing the RP 2021 with the top-down approach and sealing the scope of the goan people in deciding the type of development in their villages. The last 3 months were a waste of time as village people were enytertained with trips to the CM, TCP, Secretariat and nothing in the end. The flying squads have not taken off after almost a forthnight. How long will Goans play footsie to these concrete and mortar monsters who employ agents to divert the focus? Goa cannot be saved with gullible and emotional Goans. -Soter
