Eugene Correia has raised some very salient points regarding the tiatr in
Canada. Seniors have always made up the bulk of patrons at these occasions and
it would be a true reflection of the Tiatr Producers to acknowledge their
contribution by having seats reserved for the Seniors. I too have been
contemplating on the profits made out of these tiatr. If these are going
towards enriching only a few individuals, then it it truly unfair and the
actors who sacrifice their time and effort should be rewarded fairly for their
efforts.

Regarding plagiarizing plays written by others, in the guise of preserving the
Konkai Language, this is preposterous. and the people or persons doing this can
be charged criminally under copyright infringement laws. If one feels that a
play is so extraordinary that every Goan should see it, why not make an
agreement to either buy the play or let the playwright share in the profits of
the Tiatr. In any case, the playwrights do deserve some compensation for their
script. Selfishness will lead to the destruction of the whole spirit of tiatr
if only a few share in the spoils. Besides, do these individuals declare these
profits in their annual Income tax returns? this is an angle which needs to be
explored if the proceeds are being pocketed by the top people only.

Eugene, Thanks for a fair and unbiased report.

Regards......Manuel ( Eddie) Tavares.
