Soters writings on gulfis and shippies reminds me of the customs officers who would look hungrily at the people coming on their vacation and wondering how much they could suck out of them. Not giving it a thought of how hard these people worked to earn few pennies for their family. Some not even being paid well or paid on time. Soter should remember that before the foreign countries started investing in India, it was this shippies and gulfies who brought the foreign currency level in RBI to the level where by India could by things from foreign countries like oil. If if was not for these, India would have been bankrupt thanks to the crooks in our governments. Now maybe Indian government does not give as much importance to these NRI dollars as their coffers are already full, but we still have one privilege of non taxable income which even the government feels it owes these toilet cleaners and what not. It don’t matter what you think of the people dear sotter, cause you don’t know the hardships these people face where ever they work, and also like me, there must be many who never got a call from the employment exchange.If not most would be in Goa too.
