The Naxals would be sandwitched between the tribal rebels and the Indian
forces very soon, if they continue to romanticise revolution under the
barrel of the gun!.

“The Naxals have been saying that they are fighting to bring us power. For
many years, we roamed the forests chasing this elusive dream, but it was
nowhere in sight. So, we decided to surrender,” says Sukhlal Atla and his
wife Renuka, both Naxals who surrendered last year.

Suresh Harami, former member of the North Gadchiroli-Gondia Divisional
Committee who laid down arms early this year, says, “I often fought with
them (Naxal bosses), arguing that we should allow some development works
like roads since they are really needed, especially in times of health
emergencies. They never agreed.”
