Wartime Cannon It has 4 trade marks or emblems including that of an elephant.- see pic It also has YHS or VHS and MARIA inscribed on it. – see pic It has 9 handles or rings ( now only 5) and each ring could weigh 5-6 kgs i could not see the date any where. I wonder how much it weigh the whole of it How did they do that or how did they carry it It appears that it is imported from abroad (may be Portugal)
I think, this is the largest cannon I have ever seen. I saw smaller cannon at Old Goa, Reis Magos Fort, Near Abede de Faria Statue, Canancon fort - Cabo de Rama, Betul Fort, Anjediva Islands etc This one at Campal Gardens (Promenade or opp. F L Gomes Gardens) http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk26/4678830429/sizes/l/ another pic in 2006 http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk/168895114/sizes/l/ joego...@yahoo.co.uk for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc
