RESPONSE....here we go....I shall try to give you a lengthy reply, if not substantive one, on where I stand: I am neither, a paid up Member of the Labour Party, LibdDem party nor the Consveratives. I have terminated my Membership of the Goan Association (.U.K.) . I have come to realise that the latter Goan Association are castestist or an East African Goan oriented organisation. They want to exclude our Goan brethern who hail from Swindon - whom they see them as being of inferior quality. After years of looking for a rise in membership the *Nouvelle cuisine *now being preferred, is to limit the membership to 800 to protect members interest, whatever that may mean!. I am not inclined, neither affilated to the Congress Party, the B.J.P. Party not the erstwhile NCP wallahs. For Goa, I am for honest Government, for Ministers whose sole purpose is not to enrich themselves, and for fairness for all the Peoples of Goa - irrespective of Religion, Caste, or other affiliation. I believe that Aires is doing a splendid job in trying to stymie the rot that is taking place in our beloved Goa, I say this not because he is a Parrikar supporter but because I see eye to eye on this particular subject. I also believe that some, if not all Goanetters are of the same ilk and the sooner we are discinclined to criticise each other and work for the common good, then the sooner we shall garner strength and endurance and can do something worthwhile. I found Dr. Oscar Rebello's intended or otherwise, support of the ex Minister more than a bit preplexing - I was looking at a glass half full and he at a glass half empty - that going after Mickky will not change anything as far as other MLAs are concerned...what is the message intended? That Mickky should be exonerated? If he sincerely thinks this is a matter of fact, then he should quietly shut up and be done with his pronounciations, both in print and in word. We don't need nay sayers in Goa - what Goa needs at the moment is people like Aires. -- DEV BOREM KORUM Gabe Menezes.
