‘Tocar y Luchar’ (To Play and To Fight)

“…the most important project in the music world in our time.” - Claudio Abbado

“There is no more important work being done in music than what is being done in
Venezuela” – Sir Simon Rattle

“This is a message for the world; this is the future of music” – Placido
Domingo

This extraordinary documentary explores one of the music world’s most uplifting
social phenomena, the Venezuelan Youth Orchestra System (‘El Sistema’), which
has made world-class musicians out of underprivileged young children.

With interviews with many of the world’s most celebrated musicians including
the great tenor Placido Domingo, Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Guiseppe
Sinopoli, and Eduardo Mata, To Play and To Fight is an inspirational story of
courage, determination, ambition, and love showing us that… only those who
dream can achieve the impossible.
