During the last 15+ years in the arena of Goan community in the Gulf region, I have come across several Goans who are very special and dear to the causes their fellow community members. Many of them work silently and dedicate their time for the good of the Goans as well as for their mother tongue, Konkani, and provide the needed support when required. Among a few whom we can count is Kuwait-based Goan, Mr. Gaspar Almeida, who has been very supportive to every organization who gets in touch with him and his team of cyber Goans. A man of few words, he has been elected unanimously at every position he has been nominated and agreed to contest including over half a dozen times to GWS. A rare attribute for the dedication by Mr. Gaspar Almeida. His actions and deeds speak volumes and has been well documented in print as well as the Net media and several of you will surely vouch for his integrity and feel ashamed of the GWS report writer after reading it. To say the least, scores of Goan organizations in Kuwait, small Goan businesses, football clubs, Goan publications, Goan writers/poets And news reporters of Goan/Indian dailies, Goan websites, Mangalorean websites are indebted, grateful to Mr. Gaspar Almeida and his team. Alas, among Goans it is well known that the inherited crab mentality and every Goan has the tendencies to unwind all the good things a person does by blasting poisonous and evil intentions on the internet forums, specially by a Goan who keeps inventing stories at every meeting which are not even having the required quorum nor the attendance of patron members. Today I have had a phone call with a member who attended the GWS meeting and the member has pointed out a grave accusations on a member in their report on the Net. There has been at no time mentioned that Mr. Gaspar Almeida has manipulated anything at anytime. This is a cooked up story, isn’t it Mr. Wilson Coelho, Mr. Sydney Furtado, Ms. Sharon De Souza and Mr. Rabindra Pimenta? I have had the privilege to meet with Mr. Gaspar Almeida on a couple of occasions and his pleasant and realistic approach to the needs of Goans speak volumes and this is the real cause for some disoriented persons of loose characters to blame for all his or his cronies follies and enjoy the spoils on the cost of others reputation and honour.
