Santosh, I started to read the first few lines of the original article and stoped, knowing that it would not pass any giggle test. The only reason I am replying to your comment is because I read an even funnier military article in the Canadian press today. As you may be aware, the Canadian Govt is of the opinion that the war in Afghanistan is one worth fighting for, at least until 2011. Barack (blessed be, his name) Obama is in Toronto today, trying to convince the other G8 countries to support his war efforts there. The US position is that they need a few more years to train the Afghan military before they leave. HELLO! The Afghans have defeated every invader that was dumb enough to enter their territory. If anything, it is the Americans who should be asking the Afghans for military training. Secondly, India managed to get rid of its last invader without having its infrastructure destroyed. This feat was closely studied in Africa and at times, was actually replicated. Lastly, those studying the Greek or Roman or even the British contribution to the world realize that long after their respective military mights had disappeared, what remained of value, was their contribution to democracy and the arts.
