Now, now... Go slow, will you, while I try to keep track of who's
saying what and who's taking potshots at whom! Let me try ... in
keeping the score of just a couple of hours from one evening on
Goanet. Here is what I could gauge:

* GL doesn't like some writers ("including historians and
journalists") and empregados.
* Bro. Tony Martin doesn't like the Konkani protagonists, Devanagari
and Roman both.
* Soter doesn't like "some builder who sat close to Parrikar till
2003", Save Goa, builders, architects and engineers (not all, but
some).
* Floriano doesn't like politicians whose policies are "decided in Delhi".
* Selma likes the GBA, but not those who make insinuations about
expats and toilets.
* Bosco is cynical about the "cabal" of Goan politicians.

And so on and so forth. With so many of us having such strong dislikes
and allergies, is it any surprise that a Churchill can continue to
lure an Arwin over for talks, claim he doesn't know/wasn't told of the
issues on hand, and then go on to make disparaging comments in the
Gulf media! Knowing fully well, perhaps, that his wild allegations
wouldn't be or couldn't be questioned in that region....

Anyway, I thought my friend and former colleague Alaric Gomes would
appreciate better that this is simply not sport! Yet, when the press
in Goa itself is consistently undertaking trials by media on a regular
basis, why should our expats lag behind :-)

PS: Once again, we need to remind ourselves that the politicians
creating this entertaining tiatr for us are just the front men. They
are doing their job and getting aptly rewarded (mostly) while the
various lobbies, interests and rackets carry on effortlessly behind
the scenes...
