Dear Members and Friends,
We are very happy to inform you that the Goan Community Mombasa will be hosting
the 6th East African Goan Convention from 10th Sept. – 12thSept.2010 at the
Reef Hotel Mombasa .
They have extended an invitation to all the Goan Welfare Society members and
their families to participate at this Summit.
The theme for the Convention is – ‘Making it better together’ with a common
purpose of promoting our East African fellowship and culture; recognize change;
share useful ideas that will help identify new opportunities and enhance our
success, leading to closer bonds between our Communities in the region..
The programme will formally commence on Friday , 10th September 2010 and end on
Sunday 12th, September 2010 ,however you are welcome to arrive earlier and stay
longer , if you wish.
They have negotiated for accommodation at The Reef Hotel, where the 1st EAGC
was held. They have given us very favorable rates (See annexure for
accommodation rates and details.)
In order to mark this event , a Souvenir Brochure will be produced which will
give an insight of the history , and culture of the our Communities inEast
Africa and other informative articles about the region .
We welcome articles from our members on relevant topics for inclusion in the
brochure .Support, by way of advertisements in the Souvenir Brochure (A5) and
also through the display of Corporate banners at the events, will be greatly
appreciated.. (See annexure for rates).
If you have any particular issues, that you would like us to discuss at the
Convention, or would like any clarification on the event ,please let us know

Accomodation
We have negotiated for accommodation at The Reef Hotel, Nyali, where the 1st
EAGC was held.
They have offered us very competitive rates and we have made a tentative block
booking of 50
rooms , in anticipation. Their rates in Kshs per night, are as follows :
Single - Ksh 3600 BB
Double Ksh 5200 BB
Triple Ksh 7000 BB
2 children under 5 years free sharing room with their parents
Children in own room pay 50% of adult rate.
This is the Idd weekend, and we need to confirm your bookings with the hotel by
31.7.10 ; so we need your confirmations at earliest.
Convention Season ticket
:
Friday /Saturday/Sunday Ksh3000/- for adults
Ksh2500/- for children 6-10 years of age (<5 free)
This is inclusive of dinner on Friday, lunch and dinner/dance on Saturday and
lunch on Sunday.
We are still negotiating with the hotel and may be able reduce the price
slightly.
Souvenir Brochure
The brochure will be printed size A5, with all pages in colour,
provided art work is received in colour
