*Anti-Castist leaders met Chidambaram*
*New Delhi, 30 June 2010 :* A delegation of *‘Meri Jaati
Hindustani’*Movement met the Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram today
in the leadership
of Dr. V.P. Vaidik, the National Convener of ‘Sabal Bharat’.
Dr. Vaidik argued forcefully against the
inclusion of caste in the Census of 2011. He apprised the Minister of the
devastative consequences of caste-enumeration in the Census. Dr. Vaidik told
the Minister that the civil Society has already launched a movement against
this divisive move. He has urged the GOM to take a constructive line on this
seminal issue.
The delegation comprised of the following
members of the Core Committee of the Movement Mr. Jagdishchandra Sharma,
Mr.Viresh Pratap Chaudhry, Mr. R.L. Francis, Mr. H. S Grover, Mr. Rajat
Sharma, Dr. Lavlin Thadani, Smt. Alaka Madhok , Mr. Ramesh Rao
Dr. Vaidik would be seeing the Finance
Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherji late in the evening.
