was how PWD minister Churchill Alemao reacted when TOI contacted him.
"Anybody is free to contest elections. Why should anybody be stopped from
entering into the fray?" Churchill then reminded this reporter that Dr Piedade
Fernandes, also a dentist, who contested from Benaulim constituency in 2005 had
to taste ignominious defeat, suggesting that dentists are not cut out to be
politicians.
Asked about Gomes' claims that his popularity would spoil Valanka's chances,
Churchill shot back saying: "Valanka is born into politics. She is not a
novice. She knows inside out of all matters political. She has been to the
Parliament house and also interacted with the bigwigs in politics."
