Dear Goanetters
Till now i have been a silent spectator to this raging debate with
accusations, counter accusations and name calling.I felt it was
disgusting and uncalled for. The whole issue could have been dealt in a
different manner as a lot of things were of private nature and were
dealt among friends and wellwishers of Goa in confidence.
Since my name has been dragged in now, i am forced to clarify a few
facts. First of all, I am not a Politician and do not belong to any
Political party. I have never contrubuted to any political Party in the
past nor will I in the near future.Having said that, i am interested in
Politics and politicians as it affects the fate of people and country
they rule. As far as Goa is concerned, I call myself a true Goan
irrespective of my place of abode and that will never change.I am born
a Goan and will die a Goan and will do anthing to help Goa and Goans.I
am a fan of Parrikar as a person due to many of his plus points and
have been accused as a BJP sympathiser. Any body can call me what they
want, but i will always be asli Goyenkar and never forget my
motherland.
I happened to be in Goa when there was mass movement against SEZ. I had
strong feeling about it like most Goans.Mathany was the chairperson of
the main movement against SEZ and they were looking for all Goan
wellwishers to help them to organise the rally in Panjim.Floriano was
one of the Organising member of this Rally in Panjim. As i understood
then , the organisers had good intentions and wanted help in any way so
that the Rally could be a success.Funds would mainly be used for
Transport and feeding the travelling public.As many goenkars were
sympathetic to this cause, some of us were more than willing to help in
any way we could and thats how i landed up raising some funds and Anil
was one of the MAIN contributors.The money was handed over to Floriano
as one of the main Organisers and having full faith in the Main Leader
who was Mathany Saldanha.
This was not my project in any way. The money was given for the
Movement Against SEZ for the Rally In panjim and not to Goa
Suraj.Floriano told me that part of the money was used for transport
and he would give a receipt.As far as the Rest of the money is
concerned, i did not bother to ask back as i felt it could be used for
some good cause.
I shall not be writing any more regarding this subject as i feel this
subject shouild be closed and any misunderstanding should be dealt in a
more appropriate manner. PUBLIC ACCUSATIONS AND NAME CALLING WILL NOT
BE IN ANYBODYS INTEREST AND WILL ONLY CAUSE MORE BITTERNESS!
