It is very much appreciable that GOA SUDHAROP is doing so much for Goa and Goans.
To give an instance, my former school, Sacred Heart High School, Parra was a beneficiary of the computers for schools project wherein used but serviceable computers which would have otherwise been discarded in America were collected by Goa Sudharop and donated to Goan schools. We received four computers which at that time were much better than the ones we had in school from the first MP constituency fund. With those computers, my teachers who were teaching Konkani, Marathi and Hindi were able to use Devanagari software and type their own question papers. Seeing these teachers type their own papers, the other teachers were motivated to type their own papers in other subjects. The upshot was that almost all teachers became computer literate. Things went further when they decided to type their own mark lists. So they got an introduction to spreadsheets (in this case Excel). A stage further and they began to prepare the entire class result sheets. So then we stopped printing the formats for these result sheets. Computer typing the exam stencils in languages and the preparation of class mark-sheets resulted in considerable savings in exam administration costs. Later on the teachers moved on to making their own power point presentations. So the gift of the computers had a snowballing effect. Thanks Goa Sudharop and bless those donors who keep it running.
