Opening of The Film Appreciation Club, *Imago:Exploring the Language of Film, *will have their open session on 16th July 2010 at Gallery Gitanjali.
Imago is a course that focuses on the elements of film and how they operate in ultimately delivering an audiovisual experience. The course is introductory in character (it is structured so in both form and time) and presupposes advanced courses in order to study each element in its entirety. *Key Features * · Participative audiovisual sessions. · Exposes the participants to a very wide range of films (features from across the globe including ‘Bollywood’, Short Film, Television Serials, Music Videos, Commercial Advertising, Digital Stories, Animation etc.). · Extensive use of clips to illustrate and as examples for every aspect discussed. · Focus on contemporary cinema and media. · Not theoretical and does not dwell on history or rely heavily on ‘classics’ as illustrations. · It looks at the artistic and the technical aspects of the medium as an integral whole. *Who can participate?* The club will be open to anyone above the age of 18 years and from any background. The audiovisual medium is absolutely integral to every aspect of life today. Every individual whether she/he is in sales, production design, art, architecture, advertising or mass media will at some point feel the need to understand the fundamentals of the medium.She may come upon it in the form of advertisements, corporate presentations, documentation or films, but the elements remain the same.
