Isn't this subjectline something of an insult to the tiatr, a century-old theatre form which is very vibrant and still extremely economically viable in today's Goa (even if disowned by many)?
We need to read what a 'bhailo' like Dr Pramod Kale (whose father staged Ibsen in Marathi in Pune around the early 20th century) writes on the tiatr to better appreciate it. We also now have the PhD thesis of Dr Rafael Fernandes (and published as a book titled 'When the Curtains Rise', 2010). FN
