I wish the State of Goa and the powers that be here could show so much enthusiasm in tackling every murder, alleged murder, alleged not-murder case in Goa. Or is there a special interest displayed only when a politically-used and politically-discarded Mickky Mouse is involved? --FN
PS: Mickky has been used by every political dispensation that has been in power in the State for the last many years. He must be wondering what has hit him after "working" so well for all parties involved (including deciphering that Goa was the "rape capital" of India while he was tourism minister and his friend Ravi held home, then as now). Also, am I the only one seeing shades of contempt based on caste and communalism show up very strongly in this issue? If Mickky was another person from another background, would he be treated in the same way? In the animal farm that is Goa, all murders/suicides are equal, but some are obviously more equal. The media is reporting the issue in an "entertaining" manner, almost as if this were some five-day cricket match. For the sensationalism-driven, specially visual media, this is a good hook to catch audiences and build careers, I guess.
