>From my pal MovieMike (aka Mike Olshan, film archivist). Mike will be
wearing his Gorilla suit (Yeaah Mike) to introduce Nabonga at Union Hall pub
at Union St corner 5th Ave Brooklyn. This is how its done by the Big Boys,
and the Funky Ones. (vjp)

I am Presenting four first-chapters of serials for a nice cross-section of
this pulp fiction genre of the 30s and 40s Thurs the 22nd 7:30 at Anthology
Film Archives in the East Village, Second Ave Corner of Second St.
First-chapters play best as standalone shows because all the chracters are
introduced, the plot is explained, and all the best bits are included, to
pull you in. First Things First will show opening chapters of Captain
Marvel, Darkest Africa, Undersea Kingdom, The Phantom Creeps. All of them
very entertaining fables.

Sunday 8:30 at the Union Hall pub at Union St corner 5th Ave Brooklyn, I
will be showing Nabonga (1944) with Buster Crabbe, jungle adventure
featuring Crash Corrigan in a gorilla suit in the title role, and I will
wear my gorilla suit to introduce it. Also will show the first chapter of
Clyde Beatty's Darkest Africa serial. that also shows Crash Corrigan in the
Gorilla Suit, and he also appears as a flying batman guarding the hidden
city of Joba, where King Solomon mined blue diamonds. Hope you and your
friends can catch one or both of these upcoming shows.

Best,
Movie Mike
