Help other CONSUMERS to be better informed. ----------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Nuvem Civic and Consumer Forum expresses concern over malaria spread in the village. -------------------------------------------------- The Nuvem Civic and Consumer Forum (NCCF) is distressed at the death of 23 year old youth Neves Barreto of Pateapur Nuvem due to Malaria and has resolved to increase its efforts to control the spread of the vector borne diseases in the village.
The NCCF appreciates the quick response of Dr. Soccorro Quadros of PHC Lotulim of calling the Nuvem Panchayat to meet today to chalk out an action plan to curb the spread of the disease. The Consumer Forum has planned to request the Dy.Collector & Chairman Salcete Block Committee on Vector Borne Diseases Prevention to call an urgent meeting and the Labour Commissioner to act swiftly against the Labour Contractors for violations at the construction sites of the Mega projects in the village. It maybe noted that over the years the consistent vigilance of the Consumer Forum has resulted in immediate action from Dr. Deepak Kabadi Dy.Director National Vector Borne Disease Control Program (NVBDCP) and the Primary Health Centre. The Forum volunteers have also moved a Gram Sabha resolution requesting an Annual State of the Health Report of Nuvem village from the Health Officer Primary Health Centre Loutolim so that concrete steps can be taken by the Village Panchayat to combat the spread of various diseases in the village.
