Times of India is owned by members from the Jain community this explains why TOI never publishes any articles that will hurt the sentiments of the jain community neither TOI publishes any cartoon ridiculing the god of jains i.e. Mahavira.
Times of India's recent publishing of a Cartoon ridiculing Christ & his disciples is a DIRECT ASSAULT on the Catholic faith. TOI may have apologized but the damage has been permanently done. That cartoon will permanently remain in the public domain and on the world wide web. 1970 onwards Bollywood has been depicting catholics as drunkards and catholics having low IQ. This has permanently damaged the reputation of catholics in India. 1998 onwards the Sangh Parivar has also launched a hate campaign against catholics which is unlikely to end. The enemy knows that catholics are non-violent, non-aggressive and peaceful people and will not retaliate due to which expect the enemy to carry on with their anti-catholic activities. James Fernandes Mumbai. * * * In every way, the Goans of Bombay were part of the great melee that was this metropolis, distinct perhaps in the way communities often are, holding on to their own traditions but merging slowly nonetheless and forming the thin thread of nationhood that would eventually become India. -- Selma Carvalho, in *Into the Goan Diaspora Wilderness*.
