Think the captain was Joe D'Souza (John D'Souza from Goan Voice Canada wrote in).
Not sure the Rebellos are around. Their casa in Chicalim is around, in the millionaires row and is sprouting with hoardings for a car dealership. The neighbouring house belongs to our the Sinaris of Siridao but I ain't sure if they have moved elsewhere, so no way to find out about the Rebellos. When this incident happened, one was not born but remember everyone around talking about it for years to come. It is true nothing happened in Goa those days. People looked at the Rebello house when they passed with 'that' haunted look........I think, people grieved for him for years. They always said he was full of promise! And yes indeed, the Homi Baba angle one heard of being talked in hushed tones. The student's name is Freya Cowan.
