Subject: Zaiat Zage MLA's Ref the recent article in the media, I find it difficult to undertstand how our MLAs' can disown responsibilty for the rapid influx of migrants. Are Goan MLA's and Ministers not supporting migrant vote banks, facilitating ration cards at will to migrants, promoting mega-projects which bring in migrant workers and migrant settlers, asking for big sums from Goans to secure jobs as a result of which many Goans then migrate, faulty industrial policies purely dependent on the kickbacks they get and not dependent on what Goans actually need? Surely these MLA's are clearly aware of the Anti-Goan policies/activities they are involved in and Goans should see thru these deliberate denials!! Arwin Mesquita, UAE

The issue of migration had a mention when Mapusa MLA Francis D’Souza raked up the topic whilst moving a congratulatory motion lauding Prince Jacob for completing 25 years on the Konkani stage. D’Souza pointed out that Jacob’s dramas like Zaiat Zage and Kednam Uttolo had highlighted the issue of migration and had a relevant message for politicians to wake up. At this point looking around the House Speaker Pratapsing Rane in a lighter vein said “are politicians sleeping?” PWD Minister Churchill Alemao while supporting the motion pointed out that Zaiat Zage’s message was not for politicians but for Goans as a whole. He questioned, “Have we brought in migrants? Are politicians getting the money that migrants pay as rent to Goans who have let their houses to these people in costal areas like Calangute?” Proving his point the minister even narrated comical outline of the story of the ‘tiatr’ much to the amusement of the House. Others who praised Jacob’s stage achievements were Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar, who said he had seen Zaiat Zaage, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Civil Supplies Minister Jose Philip D’Souza, Deputy Speaker Mauvin Godinho, Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira, MLAs Victoria Fernandes, Damu Naik, Francis Silveira, Reginaldo Lourenco and Shyam Satardekar. While Zaiat Zage came in for much praise in the House, D’Souza in his congratulatory motion said the stage artist wrote and produced 25 tiatrs starting with the letter ‘P’ and named some of them. Damu, whose movie Zagor that highlights issues deareer to Goa which came in for mention during the motion, lauded Jacob’s drama Padri stating the drama had completed an unimaginable 315 shows. “Jacob is an artist who always experiments and does different things all the time,” he commended. * http://www.oheraldo.in/news/Local%20News/Members-differ-on-migration/39555.html *<http://www.oheraldo.in/news/Local%20News/Members-differ-on-migration/39555.html> ** ** *VIVA GOA* __._,_.___ Reply to sender<[email protected]?subject=zaiat+zage+%28wake+up%29%3a+*prince+jacob*>| Reply to group<[email protected]?subject=zaiat+zage+%28wake+up%29%3a+*prince+jacob*>| Reply via web post<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Goan_Online_Alliance/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJxY2gzc2JlBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE5MTA5MTE3BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MDQxMQRtc2dJZAMxODIwBHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA3JwbHkEc3RpbWUDMTI4MDkxOTQ1MA--?act=reply&messageNum=1820>| Start a New Topic<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Goan_Online_Alliance/post;_ylc=X3oDMTJmaGVpdHBoBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE5MTA5MTE3BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MDQxMQRzZWMDZnRyBHNsawNudHBjBHN0aW1lAzEyODA5MTk0NTA-> Messages in this topic<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Goan_Online_Alliance/message/1820;_ylc=X3oDMTM1bTc1Y3B0BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE5MTA5MTE3BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MDQxMQRtc2dJZAMxODIwBHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA3Z0cGMEc3RpbWUDMTI4MDkxOTQ1MAR0cGNJZAMxODIw>( 1) Recent Activity: Visit Your Group<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Goan_Online_Alliance;_ylc=X3oDMTJmNDFtOWZkBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzE5MTA5MTE3BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MDQxMQRzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2Z2hwBHN0aW1lAzEyODA5MTk0NTA-> MARKETPLACE Get great advice about dogs and cats.
