Hi Nascy, Thanks. The other companies (non-Indian in the links) seem to do well and encourage such travel. Some time back, I met a videographer who had travelled on a cargo ship to the East if I remember correctly.
I can imagine that it involves planning,, process, good protocol on part of the company crew, as also the passengers. The companies and now there are many who take on passengers are equipped to do so. They also have cabins. Perhaps we are not yet quite wholeheartedly into that servicem or perhaps we are now. It also demands a certain level of courtesy, and elegance to deal with people and their personalities-besides containers. BUT rules are laid down, one would think they are followed. Of course one is expected to have insurance and stuff. Just so one does not become a liability. I believe on such voyages certain areas are off limits, depending on the situation, time, context. But again it is a finessing of process and respecting limits. I plan on doing so. Perhaps may go with an Indian vessel if possible Of course there are the French, Japanese. Let me know if you know anyone on a good route or can connect me. What will I do? Draw, etc. Of course others can do the same, or think of doing the same. I am always asked for ideas, and here this is a another one for my already highly connected Indian friends. My situation in life has changed a bit so as I age I am moving differently. May not be a bad idea to work as a 50 (49 now) year old khalasi. Or a Topus in my craft-paper made, Opmus. Also lean, but technically sound. Hahahahahaha. Thanks again. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto From: Nascy Caldeira <[email protected]> > To: " estb. 1994!Goa's premiere mailing list" > <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [Goanet] Travelling by Cargo ships, freighters around the > world > > In my time, the ships of the SCI used to allow some passengers, if suitable > accommodation is available; though this is not recommended as it involves > issues of asfety, care and insurance laiabilities for everyone. > > Nascy. > > --- On Sat, 7/8/10, Venantius J Pinto <[email protected]> wrote: > > Not sure whether Indian ships allow this/or are allowed to > > take passengers. > > ++++++++++++ > > venantius j pinto >
