The Guardian [http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/jul/31/the-slap-christos-tsiolkas-booker] is critical of Christos Tsoilkas book, 'The Slap', which is apparently drawing attention from Down Under. Question: one character in the book is an "Anglo-Indian vet". Is she a Goan by any chance? (I ask because the film 'Bow Barracks Forever' was supposed to be about "Anglo-Indians" but had so many Goan sounding names in it.
Does The Slap deal with contentious issues of multiculturalism and racism in Australia? Only read summaries of it... FN Frederick Noronha +91-9822122436 +91-832-2409490
