Goa Carbon Limited Brand Ambassador and Asian Under 18 Girls Champion
Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa bagged fifth prize in the World Junior (Under 20)
Girls Chess Championship held at Czarna, Poland today. Bhakti defeated
Katerzyna Adamowicz of Poland in the last round to score 9 points in 13
games.
Bhakti ,playing for the first time in the World Junior Championships
gave a fantastic performance in Poland. She will add 30 Elo points to
her 2249 points . With her gold winning performance in China, Bhakti is
expected to reach 2300 points in the next rating list.
World Chess Federation’s Head of Trainers’ Commision Grandmaster Adrian
Mykhalchishin was all praise for Bhakti’s game. “This girl has a great
future,” commented the veteran who had crossed swords with the likes of
Kasparov and Karpov. The Grandmaster, at the end of the tournament
presented Bhakti with some secret Russian analysis in the Sicilian
Defence which Bhakti plays.
