It is nice and surprising to hear that Goa Tourism Development
Corporation is using our own Konkani Singer Lorna Cordeiro has been
given an opportunity to promote Tourism in Goa. It is always said that
truth will always prevail and after long 23 years of waiting the Romi
Konkani singer like Lorna have a say in the promotion of some
govt.oriented programes.
Konkani was given an official status by the Goa govt. after the death of
seven konkani martyrs during the language agitation but the people who
had sacrificied so much to make the Konkani as the Official Language of
Goa was given a step motherly treatment and always tamed as the second
class citizens of Goa. Pedro Ladru and Paskin is treated like outsiders
but the Vishnu, Shambu and Sushma is always given the oppoortunity and
first class treatment. Yes we are made to suffer for jobs,
positions,schemes,and even forced to change our culture, Some
of us were systematically forced to leave our mother Goa and settled
in other countries, WA Wa what a Congress Govt. in Goa ? Anyway HAPPY
