Talking about the stray dogs… My wallet saved me from this dreadful dog bite yesterday
As Lorna’s show was to start after the tiatr (which we already watched earlier) we decided to go for a walk via the nearby FL Gomes garden. Near the FL Gomes Statue, there was Brown colour dog. We saw it coming towards us slowly and quietly then suddenly gave me a hard bite and started dragging left & right. Thank God, I was wearing a sports Track Pant with both camera and wallet in one side chained pocket. The bite was so hard that the bite mark actually visible on my leather Wallet see pic Tore my nearly new trouser (see two holes). If there was no wallet, I am sure, I would have lost a chunk of my flesh, thus requiring stitches and off course doses of anti-rabies vaccines. It came unprovoked. don't know why it chosen me. Again, on the Miramar - Panjim Ferry stretch there are resident stray dogs near Magsons, Panjim Gymkana Area, Kala Academy Complex, Forest Dept. area/garden, children/Campal Park, Opp Old GMC, Opp Market/Dempo House to ferry wharf totaling upto 70 dogs, (does not include city or Market area). August month is traditionally known as ‘dog month’ but nowadays, it seems they come on heat twice a year say March-August every year And this could be another reason for stray dogs population explosion.
