Some faiths might believe in practices such as 'sati' ( a funeral
practice among some Hindu communities in which a recently widowed
woman would either voluntarily or by use of force and coercion
immolate herself on her husband’s funeral pyre, or 'stoning to death'
an alleged offender ( a Sharia law in Islam) or having a strong
feeling of superiority of their own faith over others thereby
displaying hatred for others, etc.(to give some extreme examples of
letting people believe or accept 'what they want to' in the name of
faith and religion)

How far it is justifiable for 'rational members' of a civil society to
accept or allow practice of such ' however illogical' beliefs.
