Investor Awareness meetings at Panjim & Margao -------------------------------------------------------- UTI Mutual has launched an investor education initiative across India, in 100 cities in 100 days, in partnership with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.
This initiative has been branded as Swatantra - Your journey to financial freedom'. Swatantra is about empowering intending investors with knowledge. On July 13, 2010, at a function at its Corporate Office, this initiative was dedicated to the nation by the Honourable Finance Minister, Govt of India, Shri Pranab Mukerjee. This knowledge initiative, will drive a shift in investor preferences and channelise savings into the capital markets which will enable large number of investors, including those in small towns and rural India, across different economic strata to benefit from a rapidly growing Indian economy. As part of the awareness initiative a Knowledge Caravan is travelling across the country, this caravan would be in Goa from 23rd to 26th August, 2010 and travel through various villages, stop at prominent places and conduct Audio Video shows / presentations to engage the audience. This caravan will carry information and material useful for prospective investors. This approach would would try and help inculcate financial literacy and enable investors take informed decisions.
