....as well as previous communications to the Members. I had written well in advance of the Association calling a meeting that I would be unavailable, as I had some engagements travelling on the Continent, in and out of the Country and finally culminating in a long stretch holiday in India.
The President was well aware of and despite this, called an E.G.M., in effect so that only his side of the story would be listened to. To make matters worse the E.G.M. notice which concerned me was not even sent to me...that is what natural justice means to the President. I even wrote a letter which was to be read to the General Body but the President decided that only his output should be heard. It was a despicable feat of engineering, in which the members were deliberately misled. The President stated that he didn't want to go to litigation; I had warned him in a letter that I would take to task each and every Board Member individually and collectively. Furthermore, the President did not inform the Membership that the G.O.A. Directors were forbidden by the Constitution from embarking on any adventure. They are only permitted to defend a case brought against them and their costs to be paid by the Company, if they are successful. The President declared openly that he wanted me expelled, whatever he told the members was the Gospel truth, after all he is a holy man, brother of the Auxiliary Bishop of Bombay. ''FG said that he was opposed to litigation and would prefer to see GM expelled'' . FG = Flavio Gracias; GM = Gabe Menezes. He said Crucify him, crucify him....after much deliberation they agreed let us crucify him! A decision arrived at when the accused was not present and had no say. I shall follow this up with some more relevations in my next posting. -- DEV BOREM KORUM Gabe Menezes. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Goa-launch of the well-received *Into The Diaspora Wilderness* by Selma Carvalho on Aug 29, 2010 (Sunday) at 11 am at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
