Hi everyone

Hats off to the next generation - our Goan Youth have taken the lead and
organized the first Goa Sudharop Community Picnic, a successful event inspiring
each other. They get it! They have received encouraging feedback for more
events in the future. Stay tuned.

Thanks to the outstanding efforts of the Goa Sudharop Youth Group, a great
crowd enjoyed the Goan picnic in Pleasant Hill, California on Sunday, Sept 5.
The venue and weather was perfect, and it was a wonderful community celebration
with food, fun, music, and games.

The Goa Sudharop Youth Group raised approximately $1,380 (approximately $500
for the "FLIP-FLOP project" which translates to 500 flip-flops for poor rural
children in Goa, approximately $550 for the "Toy and Book Drive" which includes
$400 for the Ganapati Mauze Memorial, and approximately $330 raised through the
"Treat Me Sweet" baked goods). And thanks to Fr. Al's spontaneous idea to
auction the beautifully decorated cake donated cake by Leann Braganza, we
raised approximately $200 towards the "Treat Me Sweet" project.

Thanks to Shilla, Aditya, Samantha, Kiran, Anjali, and Nadia for their work
with the Youth Projects. And also a thanks to Kurt, Nathan, Jeremy, Sherise,
Darren, and Nikhil for their input and involvement in the picnic.

Thanks to all who came (some from nearly a 100 miles away) to support our
Youth. Thanks to all who helped at the Picnic to make it such a huge success.
