Subject: [Goanet] Goanet Initiative: Introducing New Members on Goanet
Dear Goanetters,
An active Goanetter from Goa, retired principal Tony de Sa of Moira, has
volunteered to present brief profile of active (and not so active)
Goanetters, so that we could get to know each other better.
Tony plans to begin his postings, around once a week, starting from
October 2010. He plans to approach some Goanetters off-list to seek your
inputs in describing yourself. These introductions will be posted on
Goanet in random order.
We encourage you to participate, so that we can get to know each other
better on this active and time-tested 16-year-old network.
Meanwhile, this year, we have also started a Goanet Classifieds occasional
column. It is meant to share 'news you can use' by way of free
classifieds. Non-profits and small businesses are requested to send in
their inputs to [email protected] with GOANET CLASSIFIEDS in the subject
line. Please trust our volunteers' decision in the suitability of carrying
your post, and how often it could be repeated, if at all.

I appreciate the efforts being made to present brief profiles of active and not
so active Goanetters so that we could know each other better as well as the
GOANET CLASSIFIEDS on goanet. This will be a boon to all Goans wherever they
are based.
While on this subject recently a Goan was asking me if there is any reputed
Goan matrimonial non profitable site which could help Goans to have wider
choice in finding their soul mate. As I am not aware of any, I was wondering
if it would be a good idea to have a matrimonial site on GOANET giving the
minimum details for one to post and then get in touch if found suitable.
I was on the site http://mangalorean.com/ which like GOANET keeps all
Mangloreans in touch giving developments in Mangalore and issues relevant to
Mangaloreans. They also have a marriage site where one can register free of
cost just by having a user name for logging in and accessing it with a
password. To search for a suitable partner they need to have basic details
like :
Gender:
Age:
Religion & ancestral origin:
Location:
Marital Status:
Residency Status:
Mother Tongue:
Qualification:
Occupation:
Height:
Body:
Complexion:
Smoke:
Drink:
About Myself:
About My Family:
CONTACT DETAILS : Email :
========================================================================================
To search for a suitable partner on this site, the format is as under :
Looking for MALE or FEMALE
Age : From ________ to ____________.
Location : ------------------(Name the country) or Does nto matter.
The site is not responsible for the genuineness of the contents. It is only an
opportunity to have wider choice in selection of your life partner and to
progress if you find suitable person meeting your requirements. The person
can then contact the email and progress further.
I know generally Goans are outgoing and find their life partners through
family, friends, work place or contacts. However many Goans may find it
difficult to find better choice for lack of contacts/opportunities and I feel
this would be an ideal opportunity for them.
I am just sharing my thoughts and am not sure whether this is worth a try. I
would welcome feedback or suggestions from other Goanetters. I must mention
that if this is introduced, GOANET is in no way responsible for any contents.
Best wishes,
DEV BOREM KORUM
