Goanet mourns the passing of Cornel da Costa in London, England - Sep 10/10

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had the pleasure of driving to Dabolim airport in the early hours of 28th
August on our way back to Dubai.  The condition of the main road from
Chicalim junction to the airport is in such a terrible condition that it took
our driver almost half an hour to go zig - zag in the rains in order to avoid
the thousand potholes on this approx. one kilometer stretch of the road.
Wish Manohar Parrikar was the current CM, we could have earned a lot money by
showing him these potholes. The tourists, VIPs and we Goans travel on this
road first thing on arrival to Goa and last thing on our departure from
Goa.  If the condition of the road that we encounter after stepping down
from the plane is such, God help the remaining roads in our lovely Goa.!!!!!!!

The roads in Goa are in a pathetic state. It makes driving dangerous and the
vehicles too take a beating. Instead of properly maintaining the existing
roads we are made to dream of a sea link and highways. If there is proper
quality control there is no reason why the roads should be washed away.
