Goa's major news channel Prudent media has the following in transcript of its
video news:
FENI: Goans now have one more reason to say cheers. Goa's Feni which is
popular among
tourists, is now being marketed outside the state and
European countries like USA, Middle East,
Europe, Australia,Russia and
Canada... . The GI certification has widened the Market boundaries
for
Goa's Feni upto European Union.
I did not know that countries like USA, Middle East, Europe, Australia, Russia
and
Canada were European
countries, nor did it occur to me that there is a country called Europe!
This is just one among many such oversights on the part of news editors of
Prudent.
Wow! But the news is great!
Our Feni and their brains!! Amchi feni, Tanchem bodd!!!!!
Reminds me of a joke.
Once a great beauty of Albert Einstein's era approached the man with her
proposal.
She said, "Mr. Einstein, why don't you and I get married?
" I am flattered" said Einstein, "but please tell me, Why do you want to marry
me?"
The Beauty replied, "Just imagine! Our child will have my looks and your
brains!"
Einstein mulled over the proposition and said, "What if the said child is born
with my looks and your brain?"
This does not strike me as the dry scientific wisdom. It has that
quintessential element of
Divine humour to it.
Therefore
God exists, and he bestows (even) upon scientists the presence of mind
which renders any drab and embarrassing thing into a thing of beauty. Amen.
