RESPONSE: I tend to agree with Nascy and obviously there are not many intellectuals in Goa either; but many who want to claim they are one. They are sceptics, who habitually doubts the authenticity of accepted beliefs. I have been following this topic about life & God and I find utter ignorance in certain netters who are hell bent to claim that they are enlightening the netters about science. Let me give you all a vivid example of the difference between LIFE and LIVING SUBSTANCE. No, I'm not giving you examples like trees, seeds, etc., which can be subjective. Brain cells cease to function when deprived of Oxygen for more than three minutes or so. This can be caused due to various reasons like apnea, drowning,faulty anaesthesia ( like the movie Jefferson's Institute), etc., etc. Now if the patient is revived, then the patient remains in coma, sometimes for years or a lifetime. The brain cells are LIVING as circulation and oxygenation is resumed; BUT there is NO LIFE. There are no electrical waves from the brain cortex cells that send impulses to the body to be conscious, perform movements, speak, walk, etc. We call it 'Brain Dead'. If you supply it with external electrical impulses, the brain does not come to life, Although it is still a living tissue, not undergone infarct/necroses (death); there is no obvious life. Life can be compared to electricity, you cannot see it, but you can see its effects, you can feel its effects; in fact you can perceive life and electricity through only sense of touch. Could our sceptics on this network explain the meaning of Life of the German Surgeon? How is it that operations were conducted in unconventional ways? They surely are not hallucinations and delusions! Can Science explain Life after death which is clearly obvious here? If in Science Life means Living tissue; than surely the Science our sceptics are talking about is not universal, may be village science.
