Brave attempt by Mr. Sigmund Sousa to popularise Field Hockey once again. Unfortunately his hands are tied not only because of lack of financing but also facilities. Today field hockey is mainly played on astro turf and not on a potato field( Jose Mourinho - referring to the Real Madrid pitch). The equipment used on astro and style of play is different.
Players require a lot more conditioning (weight training) as the game is now super fast, their nutrition has to be good, not just thale and bende but Argentinian pampas beef so that they can build thick wrist to push and hit the ball and large calves to sustain accelaration. Having said that I guess the lads are all excited to give it a go, Goodluck to Team Goa! BC
