India definitely needs something like this. The least this project can do, is to help the government identify tax dodgers and recover unpaid taxes.
All assets owned by a person need to be linked by this unique identifier. Once this is set, it would be a piece of cake for the government to estimate a person's earnings, net wealth and recover the taxes it is due. This is not at all complex to set up.
