The dry day in the capital city is also unwarranted and unjustified. Why make the people and tourists hop to Taleigao, Merces or Chimbel for a drink. We all know that this unnecessary election has cost the tax payer over 60 lakhs. RESPONSE: This time around, it appears, that Aires is whining about that glorious necessity for Goans i.e. 'wine'. Ah! those poor natives and tourists who could not find a drink (yeah right) in Panjim and had to travel all the way to distant Taleigao, Merces or Chimbel for the all important item for Goan-sustenance called 'drink'. Just imagine that! What a tragedy for the image of Goa and Goans! Perhaps, they had to re-open the old Ribandar hospital to treat all the natives and tourists who had alcohol withdrawal issues. On the matter of cost of having elections, here is an idea: Don't have them, ever! It would save a lot of money and gas (emitted by politicians and their hacks). It would also spare us of this expected but totally unnecessary whining from partisans from the side which came second best. Would it not? jc
