Reliable medical sources state that aspartame is safe during pregnancy. Please
see the following from the public interest aspartame
information center run by the non-profit Calorie Control Council:

RESPONSE: Mr. Santosh, may I know whether you are a medical doctor or not?
                              If not, then you are forgiven as a loudmouth.
                    If you are, then you have forgotten, or have not taken the
‘Hippocratic oath’and are totally irresponsible not befitting the medical
profession. Can you vouch for what you are advising?
If some woman listening to your advise get a pre-mature delivery by consuming
fizz drinks, etc., sweetened with Aspartame;
are you ready to stand in the ‘dock’ as responsible for the cause of death of
the fetus due to your irresponsible advice and deficiency in service?
And are you ready to pay the damages claimed? Please answer!
And give your full name, age, profession and address, so that if anyone needs
to sue you at a later stage, can find you.

Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão.
