Thank you Eric. Now, I know a little more.

Leslie de Noronha shares Porvorim roots with Victor.  A
London trained pathologist, he was middle-aged when he returned home to Bombay
in the sixties. He had grown up in a large house on Club Back Road, Byculla,
from where  his parents were elected to the Bombay City Council in the 30's.
Both, Socrates and Myrtle were dermatologists, and Myrtle drew up the 'Social
Hygiene Act' of 1935 that created the 'happy-girl' triangle bounded by Foras,
Falkland and Grant Roads : we were much ahead of Amsterdam !

I knew Leslie, a soft spoken master of the language, and I sorely miss his
Examiner reviews.               eric.
