Tiatr –‘The womb’ In this household there live a National award winner Scientist Jayson (Rupesh Jogle), his wife Hazel (Ivy Pereira) and his Assistant cum ‘Meunni’ (sister-in-law) Tanya (Suzeta Pereira). Besides, a family doctor (Nazario Pinto), their Driver Jerry (Pobre Dias) Scientist Jayson into research, production and marketing of contraceptive or Birth control pills. His asst. Tanya supplies pills to her college or youngsters on daily quota basis. Jayson and Tanya are like a bunch of brainwashed people. Besides, money making, for them, prevention and termination of pregnancies seems to be the main motto. The scientist even talk about the ongoing research – Producing designer babies in the lab soon.
They have everything but no child in the house. Wife insists but the scientist keep saying ‘there is plenty time for it’ Wife all alone at home, husband and sister had no time or interest to listen to her woes. Jerry is now a proud father of his child… It was at this time the scientist come to his senses but it was too late … after prolong experimenting his research on his wife the womb is now damaged beyond repairs. KUSVO a tiatr by Conceisao Fernandes (Ami Daizi, Fatorda, Margao) was the 18th entry in the ongoing 36th All Goa Tiatr Competition by Kala Academy. Staged on 22nd Oct. 2010 at KA, Panjim. Tiatr was unusual but good with powerful message. Simple with just one house or poddo Ivy, Rupesh and Suzetta were the main and played very well Light comedy played by Gaspar and Onos (Johny Marques and Dorothy Camara) Onos reminded me of a short typical modon (Kunnbi). She was carrying a TV on her waist which was almost as big as her, appeared very funny The Tiatr had 13 beautiful songs. Started with an unusual opening chorus where all females and male artists separately introduced in a group by the playwright Conceisao Fernandes where every one had line to sing . It was like a satko + attko all in one. Nazario Pinto (2), Ivy Pereira (2), Suzeta Pereira, Reem Dias (3), Kareena Mascarenhas, Conceicao Fernandes (2), Mario Pinto (2), Bernard Noronha (2), Pobre Dias, Antonette Barbosa (2), Aston, Francis Pinto (2) etc JoeGoaUk’s award for best singing goes to Nazrio Pinto and Francis Pinto for their patriotic duo Reema, Conceisao, Aston etc were also good. Ivy also sung well but had one FL problem at one time but soon recovered.
