The original Clube Vasco da Gama was a grand place - high ceilings (required to 
keep the place cool), tall windows, large mirrors, billiard tables, et al. 
Shame 
"progress" destroyed what was once a beautiful piece of Indo-Portuguese 
architecture. 


Bar-Restaurant Capucinna was another quaint place, as was the old Cafe Central 
(where today's Mr. Baker is situated).
