Tiatr ‘For You’ A farmer along with his two sons and a daughter living in this house. Father lost his wife at daughter’s birth. All three children vow never to hurt their father who brought them up single handedly.
Elder son wanted to become an engineer. (Aviation). Father borrow money and send him to Bangalore for studies. Brilliant in studies but he is not like rest of the richer lot. Victim of college ragging. eventually gives up studies and retunes home. He is now with reformed mind – into quick money making – drugs. Soon build a bungalow in place of the age old tree much against the wishes of the father. He is caught red handed in a police raid. Obedient daughter has a dream of becoming astronaut (space) Even promised her father to take him for a space ride. All was going well until once she attended party for the first time Her drinks were spiked with drugs and she was raped. Dreams now shattered. She talks to no one, just sitting at one place and starring at one direction. After studies, younger son. as per his plans joins his father business – Cattle farming With bank loans, Govt. schemes, subsidies etc he is now a successful farmer. Infact, he gets a state award for his success and hard work. He is the only child to make his father proud Dedicating his success to his father, and with the awards and trophies in his hand, the proud son says to his father ‘all this for you’ TUKA a tiatr by Framel Fernandes (Sao Gonsalo Dramatic Group, St. Cruz) was the 20th or the second last entry in the ongoing 36th All Goa Tiatr Competition by Kala Academy. Staged on 26th Oct. 2010. Father role very well played by Reginald Nazareth, elder son Philip Azavedo, Daughter Maria Coelho and the second son Franzel Fernandes who did very well. Besides there was a quack doctor Manuel G. Gonsalves who provided comedy. Stage setting such as a farmer’s house with typical village surroundings. Cowshed, haystack, life size bullocks, plough, a hut, a large pot (moddki), an old tree etc etc. deserved full marks Tiatr had about 10-12 songs ( I lost the count) Just 2 or 3 song were good. Songs by Mindroy Carvalho, Elvis sequeira , Agnes Rodrigues were good Steve Rodrigues also sang well on M Boyer. He says M Boyer is his Mama (maternal uncle) Other singers were Elmer Sequeira, his wife Carmin and son Elmer. Jerry D’ Mello, His wife Maria and daughter Shaina, Natasha Saldanha etc Extra: Ploughing by bullock, a ride/ movement in a straight line developed a snag midway As said, song part was catastrophic as if they were practicing first time and that too on stage during the competition . Plenty of FLs and Quatert, Trio abandoned midway. Remaining were simply not up to the mark.
