As a part of that pledge, a group of ten of our members' kids, five boys and five girls, are heading for Goa tomorrow, on an expedition that we have put together for them. They will be accompanied by a Mentor, our Hon Treasurer Gavin D'Souza - a very brave man indeed, all things considered. We hope his wife Betty will not notice the grey hair he sprouts on the trip! The KGA is subsidising this trip with the help of a few generous friends. In Goa, the group will be lodging at the Hotel Santiago in Calangute, one of the resorts owned by the famous deSouza Group, thanks to its Chairman Ralph deSouza. Ralph is Chairman of the Goa Tourism Board and the President-in-waiting of the Goa Chapter of the Indian Chamber of Industries (CII). We are privileged to have his support. Members of the KGA who have generously dipped into their pockets to help sponsor some of the costs include VasantBaliga, FaustoCardoso, Perry Goes, David Lobo, Joe Remedios and some of the KGA office bearers. We are most grateful to them. And naturally, we will hit them again. And again and again. As my sainted mother would say: Moumeutathuimsorkomprannsomething - I've forgotten. Khonndta? I am attaching a Trip Brochure ** that we produced for the group - it will tell you more about this exciting expedition. It may even encourage you to demand a similar expedition for the parents! The group will travel in a chartered bus, to and back from Goa. May I ask you to please say a prayer for their safety. I am sure they will return with wonderful tales of their discoveries - and the enjoyment of it all.
