Do people really want to Save Goa? For it only seems to be words, words, and
words. 'Save Goa' has definitely emerged as an attractive brand to be sold to
unsuspecting NRIs and locals. A community that has lost its ability to analyse,
realise and strategise is bound to go round in circles. Press notes or sorties
by helicopters to photograph the destruction of Goa are all meaningless if
Goans cannot comprehend the real trouble.
Blaming politicians for the mess is always welcomed by political opportunists
though they pretend not to like it, because at the end of the day these
elements know that they are just pawns of the all powerful economic forces of
Goa that make and break governments. The sooner RP 2021 is notified, the better
it is to seal the fate of Goans till 2021 and thereafter. Is the rule of the
game any different from that which influenced the RP 2011? In fact, we have
more additions like Sec. 16 &16A and the Common building rules, which are
beneficial to interests of real estate architects and engineers of Save Goa
fame. Goans just fail to see the venomous reptiles.
Whether it is a 'nagrik samiti' or 'lok samiti' or 'Goa Abhiyan', the
beneficiaries and patrons are the same. Whether it is the NH alignment or the
RP 2021, again the puppeteers are the same.
The last words of Mahatma Gandhi as he falls to the bukllets of his assasin
just ring in my ears at this moment. Hey Ram!
