Room with a View
The breakdown in the population of Roman Catholics, Hindus, Muslims is probably 30%, 65%, and 5% respectively. But the view from my window is something else. Goanet appears to be 99% Roman Catholic and this view can be said to be something of an anomaly, a Goan aberration. Anyone who is familiar with the Roman Catholic ideology can in a matter of seconds draw up a list of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable, what will make the RCs smile and what will make them swoon. How boring! Besides not being a balanced portrait of Goan culture it is utterly booorrrrring! The four or five Hindus on Goanet do not comment (or very, very seldom) on their own culture, pro or con. We do have the daily dose of BJP-Congress debate which only adds to the boredom. Can't we Goans do better? _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ _/ _/ tambdimati: the Goa review is a community blog of original _/ art, writing, music, news and commentary from and about the _/ smallest state in the subcontinent. check out the newest _/ member of the Goanet family daily at _/ http://www.tambdimati.com. _/ _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/
