Goa Festival 2010
Celebration of Goa at New Delhi

As in the past with the objective of encasing the Goan spirit and promoting Goan handicrafts, food and culture, “Goenkarancho Ekvot” in association with Department of Tourism, Govt. of Goa is organizing gala event “Goa Festival” at Goa Sadan, 18, Amrita Shergill Marg, New Delhi from 12th to 14th November 2010 in Delhi which will exhibit various aspects of Goan life, culture and progress.

The inaugural event will be held on 12th of November 2010 at Goa Sadan, 18 Amrita Shergil Marg New Delhi at 6:30 pm. Kum. Selja, Honourable Minister for Tourism will be the chief Guest and Shri Oscar Fernandes member CWC will be the Guest of honour. Chief Minister of Goa Shri. Digambar Kamat has kindly consented to preside over the function.

1. Information centre for details on Goa such as its art & culture, travel & tourism. 2. Display and sale of Goan Handicrafts & live demonstration on coconut craft. 3. Konkani CDs, DVDs, VCDs on Goan music and drama, besides Konkani books of literature, books to learn Konkani and children books on display and sale. 4. Prizes on cultural shows and Goan dances sponsored by Dept of Handicrafts.
5. Goan vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine.
6. Cultural show by Department of art & culture, Govt. of Goa.
7. Live music would be played by Goan bands.
8. Lucky draws – on offer shall be holiday packages to Goa with a boat ride sponsored by Dept. of Tourism.
9. Exciting games for the children
Homage to Late. Shri Ravindra bab Keleker, Jnanpith Awardee will be offered at the festival. Different books on Konkani Literature along with Konkani music and drama CD/DVD and VCD will be available.

Goa Konkani Academy is participating at the festival along with Department Of Art and Culture, Department Of Handicrafts and Small Scale Industries, Department of Rural Development Agency, Department of Craftsmen Training, Department of Information and Publicity.

It is an exclusively a Goan affair by Goans to promote Goan art culture, tradition, cuisine & heritage.
