Just noticed how this thread digressed from Dr. Oscar Rebello's ignorance to
human right violations. Almost everyone I asked about Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis
Falcão's letter published in GT were in agreement with his views. While the
letter columns of Herald may be desperately used to revive Dr. Oscar's brand
image, the reality is that he is seen by many as a disaster in leading Goa's
movements. A leader who classifies noises of villagers against mega projects as
anarchy does not deserve to be part of Goa's social movements. When a leader
issues certificates of Delhi socialites being goans, then there is something
seriously wrong. Now he opens his mouth to support the Desh Premi sentiments
without perhaps understanding what he is getting into. He can blame his
miseries on the internutters and his trusted malyalee fish-monger may publish
his USP but all this is bound to be insufficient to win over the public whose
trust he has betrayed when on the RP Task Force. If not let him show his
submissions on behalf of GBA in the TF report besides his signature to this
treacherous document.
